Background of Masjid Al-Amin


The aspiration of building a mosque at Markas Briged Tengah Pasukan Gerakan Am (PGA) was actually planned since the relocation of Markas Briged Tengah from Jalan Pekeliling (Jalan Tun Razak ) to settlements of Markas Briged di Batu 7, Cheras at 1981. All the members of PGA were desired to have a mosque which really belongs to their headquaters after the Batalion headquaters moved to the new camp in 1983.

Then, for prayers and worship and perform religious activities brigade had to use space downstairs quarters bloc members into the mosque while the Central Brigade. Space capacity on the block while it is limited to accommodate the number of pilgrims crowd.

With the efforts of all parties,  the construction project was began by the end of 1995 then began. The construction of this mosque, which cost RM2.4 million to be completed and submitted to the Brigade at 28th May 1997 and was used beginning on  26th June 1997 this Mosque has been registered with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department on June 28, 1997.

-Tall slender tower  from which the  worshippers are  called to prayer 5  times each day by  muezzin.

-It is called as  "manara" in Arabic,    means lighthouse.

-It is called as "musalla" in  Arabic, means hall for  prayer

The management office within the mosque helps in assisting the people to give their charity money to the needed people either locally or overseas

in the  mosque praying hall and the garden of the mosque with its decorated coloumns and water fountains. the Akad Nikah - marrige contract - ceremoney takes place. with the help of the community shaikh/Qadi  - a person who has both islamic teachings knowledge and islamic law

funeral management take place at the mosque for muslims. preparing the body for burial; washing the body and performing the funeral prayer for it must take place in the mosque

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

during ramadan, mosques takes the effort to put on iftar and Suhur for whom ever in need. in a response to help each other in performing their rituals more easily.

A weekly speech is held at the mosque prior to friday prayer. it includes moral lessons and stories which concentrate in enhancing muslim faith and way of life.

Due to the importance of religiouse teachings for muslims.In order to help the society earning good deeds and be better muslims, class such fiqh - islamic law- , Quraan and sunnah lessons in addition to arabic language classes.

 Fullfilling the educational purpose of the mosque small library has been put for people to use. Thus, making the religiouse education process more convinient and reachable for every one.

During tragedies mosques open their doors and act as shelter for people in need. thus fullfilling both its spiritual and social purpose. As Prophet Mohammad said of muslim community, it must act as united as the human body is.

- means "under      columns" in

 Ancient Greek.

-the columns act as  supporting element  for the roof of the  mosque.

-is the main type of  

 mosque  construction with  the combination of  arches and   columns.

-the floor plan makes  use of large open  spaces for public  access purpose which  minimize the use of  small private and  enclosed room.

-the corridors are made  connected to every  spaces in the mosque.

-the largest open space  in the mosque is  the  extended prayer hall  and multi-purpose hall.

-the small openings on the top wall allows outside air to enter the mosque which provides natural ventilation to the mosque.

-No air-condittioning system is used for this mosque.

-the "Eight-pointed star" symbol acts as the main Islamic design of the mosque.

-it is for decorative purpose to show the beauty of Islamic design.

-it can be seen at every corner in the mosque

-the mosque is built at  higher site it is  because the muslims  believe that they are  closer to Heaven  when they worship t  their prayer.

MOSQUE AS A HOUSE OF EDUCATION

Mosques started to serve as education centre since the Sultanate of Malacca. At that time, the Islam religion was widely spread throughout the state. Malacca then became a place where the "ulama" gather. Those "ulama" were very well versed in Islamic Studies and play an essential role in delivering knowledge to the Sultans as well as the people.

Known as Jami'a (Arabic word for university), which is derived from Jami' (mosque). It serves as a learning centre.

All Muslim are encouraged to seek for knowledge (Ilm) in order to get closer to God (Allah).

Students gather around a teacher to form a study circle known as "Halaqat al-Ilm" or "Halaqa", which is the basic format for learning.

Besides understanding al-Quran, students also get the chance to learn literature, philosophy, law, ethics and many other Islamic Studies. 

Masjid Al-Amin role in the community 

 

 

      As any other mosque Masjid Al-Amin doesn't act as a house of worship only. Also it is considered as a community backbone for the muslims. The mosque house holds several activities to serve the community as follows: 

 

  • Marrige proccess ceremonies 

  • feasts during The holy month of Ramadan and on Hari Raya days

  • plans lecture series inside and outside the mosque

  • Quranic lessons for children

  • zakat collection 

  • Funeral management.

Masjid Al-Amin PGA Briged Tengah is 
just located at around 4km away from UCSI North Wing and it required around7 minutes drive along the journey.

It is now a public mosques for all the
villagers in the village to undergoes allthe religious activities, community andeducational activities.

GROUND FLOOR 
Ground floor consist of Public Hall, Main Prayer Hall, Community and Educational Hall, Funeral Processes Room, Ablution Room and Toilet.
Main Prayer Hall located at the center of the Mosque , it carry out the Solat Utama, which only the serious praying acitivities are allowed.
Public Hall located at the entrance, allow villager to have activities like collecting zakat (charity issue) and any celebrations.
Comity and Educational Hall used for community discussion and educational purpose, and discussion and classes can happening at this place. Ablution room and toilet provided for prayers to clean themselves before start praying activities.

MINARET

FIRST FLOOR 
Female's prayer area located at the first floor. This is due to the islamic rules which saying that male and female are not allowed to pray together, that's why male prayer pray at the ground floor and female's prayer pray at first floor. They are separated from each other.

All the members of Markas Briged Batu 7 choose a high ground's site and wish to build a significant Mosque at that area.

The construction work was began at end of 1995 and it took two years to complete the Mosque.

The construction work was cost around 2.4 million to build a significant Moqsue with all the detail islamic architecture elements.


 

RELOCATION

SUBMISSION 
When the mosque was completed, it submitted to the Brigade on 28th May 1997.

Communitiy issues like community services and political events were carried out in this mosque.

The mosque also played a role of education centre. Religious classes was having at here to teach the villagers islamic knowledge.
